Hi all
Just bought a Trek Domane AL4 which comes with their stock wheels (Affinity I think, Formula hub). The freehub “stuck” at 1000 winter miles and was replaced under warranty, the LBS said that they’re not really designed for UK weather!!

I’m thinking of cutting my losses and buying a better set, I always liked Aksiums on my rim brake bike but only used them in summer, used Shimano wheels for winter. I do a lot of miles (c 4000’a year) but just for fun so don’t need anything flash - just don’t think I should need a new freehub every year so want something more resistant to our delightful climate!

Any recommendations please?

Thanks
Paul.

I don't know how heavy you are, but the trail of bending, breaking wheels ended when I started investing exclusively in DTS Swiss hubs and rims.

13 stone 7 so not where I would like to be!
Aren't the freehubs a standard fitment? Can't you just replace that with a better quality one?

Not according to LBS - that was my thought too
