Hi I am thinking of buying a bike, this will be indoor only at beginning, to go on zwift maybe. Am new to cycling and large guy so was deciding between road and MTB any thoughts?

I was looking at Triban RC120 Disc from Decathlon. I am 173cm and inside leg 29".
I was looking at what size as I am top end small but bottom of medium.
Currently they only have small in but willing to wait if medium better. I will be riding indoors mostly at first and my wife may use she is 5' 6".

What size would people recommend?

Decathlon have been useless on answers and concerned if I buy and wrong size will be difficult to return, anybody any experience?

Thanks

For turbo, get a roadbike.
However if you then plan to ride properly off road, get a MTB. how large are you? Any bike should comfortably handle up to 17 stone or more

Size wise, if you’re in between go smaller, you can always elongate it a bit. However, a too big frame can’t be so easily made smaller and can be uncomfortable and even lead to pain
and injury. The small will also be much better for your wife

It’s summer, why won’t you be riding outside though? :sun:
