I've had Schwalbe luganos on my cross bike all summer, just put a new pair of Swalbe land cruisers on, seem nearly as fast as the luganos, but with more grip for wet leafy cycle tracks

Another happy GP 4 seasons user. 28s too. 2000 miles so far. Tyres showing barely any wear, very few small nicks that's about it.

Commute bike has just had 28mm Rubino Pro Techs (the wet weather version of the Rubino) put on it and for a first run out this morning they're surprisingly more comfortable over potholy roads than the 25mm Gatorskins they replaced.

On my Specialized crosstrail I had some 37cc tyres and found them to naff for road and tarmac trails so I put some Gatorskins 28cc on but found them a bit too hard so I've just got some Marathon Originals 32cc and will give them a try as they run at a lesser psi..
If they dont work I will get some Rubbinos as they have been well mentioned on the above posts.

I used Conti 4 seasons last winter and they were fine until one had a sidewall failure after about 1000 miles, I'm not the first to suffer from this either which makes me wary of replacing it. Grip-wise they're great, expecially in the wet.
I've plumped for Schwalbe Duranos this winter and so far they're fine although that's only about 100 miles on them.

Turns out I can fit 25mm tyres to my rims with no issues. Currently wearing Continental Grand Sport 4's or something. Either way, they're much, much faster than the cross tyres I've been using over the summer!

If you're considering Schwalbe Durano+ you might be interested in my photo here of an incident where the puncture protection worked well.

I'll leave the recommendations to others who have wider experience of different kinds of tyres.

As long as they have the rear  Rear wears more quickly of course too, which might explain why they are sold out!

Probably simpler just to go for a Rubino at £9.50 (£19 a pair)
