I've been commuting my 18 mile round tripfor a 8 month now
And am about to get my new cycle to work voucher
With my subway I often mount the pavement to bypass lights ect
Would a road bikes wheels cope or crumble ?

I don't think that road bike wheels will cope as well as wheels on your subway but cycling on the pavement and jumping red lights is a big no no.​

Road bike wheels and the wheels your Subway accepts are two different sizes, unfortunately they are not cross compatible.

As long as you dont bounce up onto the pavement you'll be fine they certainly wouldn't crumble but if you hit the kerb with force you could maybe get a pinch puncture

Please stay off the pavement, unless you're walking. Neither type of wheel/ tire is suited to pavements.

Pavements are for pedestrians and small children on bikes.

Unless you ride like a small child, then stick to the road.
