Anyone else want to throw something at the TV screen when this over-acting drawling twonk delivers his economic news?
Ah, that would explain his rather individual delivery. Some words seem to go on forever at a variable pitch that doesn't match yer average speech, posh or otherwise.I try to remember he's had speech therapy for a severe stammer which is the cause of some of it.
Nope. Quite like him.Anyone else want to throw something at the TV screen when this over-acting drawling twonk delivers his economic news?
Try listening to a US newsreader and be thankful. They manage to mangle the emphasis on words and phrases so as to make them completely incomprehensible. You might as well listen to a bad speech synthesizer reading from an autocue. They're all at it I'm afraid.
Jeremy Vine is another over-dramatic presenter. Arms everywhere and ridiculous voice. Looks like a Preying Mantis on speed.
Stammer or not, Pestons delivery ruins what he has to say.
I think they all go to the same am-dram classes - even the weather forecasters are at it. Strange use of emphasis in the wrong place, voice volume up and down and up and down and hands been thrown about willy-nilly.
Cobblers the lot of it.
I think that the French seem to have struck the right balance....That's because years ago we opted for looks over delivery and acumen.
On the contrary, I find it holds my attention.Stammer or not, Pestons delivery ruins what he has to say.
