She was in the film, wasn't she! So how was that a myth?
She was in the film..... however the "dancing scene" that has caused palpitations for many was performed by an anonymous stripper from Glasgow, and her voice was dubbed throughout by the actress Annie Ross

I accept that you misread my post!
I'm very familiar with the stand-in dancer, and the voice-over, what with Scandinavia(ns) being my 'specialist' subject.
As a 13-year-old boy, a young Britt Ekland makes for some very pleasing viewing; the dance scene only became more 'popular' as I watched repeats of the film over the years.
