Rode in fixed today

Well today rode my previously single speed bike fixed to work and back with no issues.
Thought it might be a bit much having to pedal all the way but it was fine, kind of fun too using the drive to slow and stop.
Still have brakes front and back though

Well done for ditching the ratchets! I last rode fixed 21 years ago and have come back to it this year and lovin' it. Keep the brakes 'til you are very confident at stopping quickly-I'm running front and rear and they're there to stay!

I've been riding fixed for 2 years now - whilst I hardly ever use the back brake, I like to have one installed for emergency use (should the chain go, I would hope to be able to lock the back wheel before destroying it!) and for when I'm just too knackered to use my legs and need two brakes.
