The middle bit
Just watched Rogue Restaurants, how about Matt Allwright gets on a bike with helmet cam on a typical commute and confronts muppet drivers to explain their actions ?

Could have his mate chase them down on his Honda Blackbird

Prime time BBC1 telly.

Come on London media types, any takers ?

I've watched a few of the programs they're great until they feature one of the resturants you've eaten in - Harvester.

Knowing the beeb – they’ll probably take your idea but go after “rouge cyclists” instead – you know – the ones who don’t use cycle lanes, don’t wear helmets and think they have as much right to be on the road as the car drivers who actually pay fro everything…

I can picture the scene.

Matt stops a man in a 4x4 at the lights just before Stockwell tube. 8 am. He is dressed in his trademark old man's outfit, beard, with fake welsh accent.

"You do realise," he begins in his best Welsh accent, "that by straddling the Bus Lane whilst speeding down this road and only stopping half-way across the lights, you could have killed me. Did you know that..."

He is interrupted as his side-kick, following behind, is suddenly ploughed into the ground by the 50 cyclists who hurtle through the reds there each morning like a stampeding herd of rogue Wildebeest being chased by a pack of skinnny, ravenous vicious lions on the Serengatti.

LOL

that reminds me of the episode of top gear i saw the other day. they had a race across london via bike, car, boat & public transport. hammond was on the bike and i couldnt beleive how manycyclists wanted to kill themselves! the bit that stuck out was when he stopped at red lights. he was there a few seconds when whoosh! abut 20 cyclists went flying throught! he started going on about sticking to red lights then like a sheep went through hiself!

I've had the idea for a while, as there seems to be a lust for fly on the wall TV, that there could be a good programme where a cyclist exchanges places with a bus driver for a week (or taxi driver or similar). Each would obviously have a helmet camera on to film their experiences. At the end of the week, the idea would be that both would come to appreciate the others point of view and viewer would learn about why cyclists are encourages to cycle in the primary etc.

Upsidedown, there is certainly possibilities with your idea, but it might come across as a witch hunt, i.e., cyclists raging against car drivers etc. It would have to be treated with some car (i.e. don't let channel 4 do it!).

Of course, if they are looking for a helmet camera cyclist to take part (for a reasonable fee), then I'm their man. They'd get a heavy breathing, Glaswegian accented, high pitched voice (when annoyed) man to keep the viewers amused!:thumbsup:
