England : Essex Rotary Club of Basildon Annual Bike Ride

Anyone thinking of doing this? I have done the fun ride with the Diglets before but not the main rides. Tempted to take the tricross over for the part off-road 40 miler. It's Sunday 12th May and you can sign up on the door.

Yep,
Got my name down for the 70 miler, not a bad route and the weather seems to be looking good too.
The only killer is it goes up Old Church Hill towards the end, not looking forward to that after 65 miles!!!

Good ride today, apart from a puncture at 10 miles and the horrendous headwind...

Hit a bit of crosswind at one point but I didn't think it was too bad (winter still in my mind I guess) , really enjoyed myself.
Took it easy but the tricross was ideal for the 40 mile as there were only a couple of offroad sections and it ate up the road miles. Kudos to the girl who skated across the offroad on a road bike. Old Church Hill was fun, not attempted it before and it certainly got the heart pumping.

Certainly does, especially the second time around...
Could have diverted up South Hill, but you still have to get to the top!!!
