Rotate/flip chainrings to spread wear?

When my LBS replaced my chain and cassette a year ago, he noticed that the Stronglight chainrings needed replacement too but to avoid unecessary expense he just flipped them. This has worked perfectly for the last year, approx 6000 miles. They need replacing now.

Because I use a Schlumpf HSD, my chainrings rotate 2.5x faster than than the cranks in the overdrive mode.
So I even the wear out on the rings that way ..... ^_^

I bought the complete 'new style' Stronglight Impact chainset and I don't know what rings are fitted - I am impressed with it though - very good value. I use a cheap but effective Shimano UN55 bottom bracket with it.
I got Spa's own crank TD-2 for £20 I already had two inner rings 26 & 28 the 28 from their cheaper chainset with 28/38/48 for £35 when I first started, and two zircal the 38 and 50th rings, I think the rings are pretty much the same as the Stronglight ones Stronglight outer rings

they shift pretty well, many a time as well as the rear, I set the bike up when I got the 105 shifters with 50/38/26 and a 12-27, one out of curisoty to see if it would work on the 5703 FD and I wanted a gearing I could spin with and climb, however I found I hardly used the 38x27 combination, so when I changed the cassette last weekend (through choice not wear its still in pretty good shape after nearly 4,000 miles), I went with an CS6700 12-23 I am finding this much better, coupled with the 28th inner, as the drop in gears on the rear was too great really from the 38th to 26th, I had to shift down the cassette about 4 gears

I am contemplating getting a Tiagra 12-30 cassette and stripping it for the 19-21-24 gears, as you can't split the 105 or Ultegra low gears, and putting a 39 ring on, changing my current middle range from 43.8-83.9" to 43.1-86.1, and overall from 32.3-110.4" to 30.9-110.4", don't you just love triples and the options you have
