The chain in just long enough, so that's not the cause.

Put the chain on the largest cog and adjust the B screw so that the chain is nicely dropping onto the cog, too close and the chain will start jamming, too far away and it will be slightly more noisy.

About a 6mm gap ,if you look on YouTube there’s plenty of tutorials

Does not seem to be any words visible on the outside of the chain, that side should be on the inside.

Swapped around - just waiting for rain to lessen, so that I can get out for trial run

Thanks for all the advice. Did 20 miles today and both chain and gear changes felt fine. Just the hideous squeal from (I think) the brake rotors to sort out now!

Blow torch and fine sandpaper do it for me
