Living only a few miles from Southampton I've cycled the round the Isle of Wight route on numerous occasions but until this week hadn't done the walking route.
Have just completed it over three days with some mates and it was a great experience, you see lots of stuff that you miss on the cycle route and have more time to take in the views etc. at a slower pace. Would thoroughly recommend it.

Sounds great. Few beer stop offs ?

What's this 'walking' malarkey ?

Just booked a week on the IOW end February/start March next year, what type of riding is available?

Sounds interesting. How far is the walk?

Is it MtB compatible?
There doesn't seem to be a definitive source for the exact route length, various websites give 66 to 70 miles but we had 71 on the route plus another 5 getting to the accommodation etc. according to my mate's Garmin watch thing.

As to biking it, a fair bit is bridal path but quite a bit is footpath, well worth going mountain biking on the Island anyway though.
