Route Advice around Moffat or Lockerbie.

Do any of you good people have a good route around Moffat or Lockerbie. I don't know the area but it is a half way stop where I can meet up with some friends. We are planning on a 2 & 1/2 - 3 hr ride.
Not mountainous if possible.

Any suggestions?
