I'm down in Bingley this week doing a training course for my work. I've brought my road bike down therefore I would appreciate some info about local bike routes. I was thinking maybe around the 30 mile mark.

Cheers

Hilly?

Do you need/want a cafe stop?

I have assumed that a hilly route is required ... The area is VERY hilly so unless you just go up and down the Aire valley you are going to encounter a lot of hills - embrace them! :okay:

Here is a strenuous, scenic 34 miler, largely on quiet roads. I prefer it in an anti-clockwise direction.

GPX route file attached.

As for cafes ... if you are doing this in the evening the cafes will probably be closed!

@arranandy - if you like that one, I'll do one out towards Ilkley for you.

Thanks Colin.

Maybe do that one tomorrow evening. I'm staying at the Bankfield Mercure Hotel just on the edge of Bingley

Stretch your legs a little, it's a super easy ride to Skipton on the B6265, check out Skipton then straight out north on the B6265 to Hetton, then Airton (these 2 mostly traffic free), then arrive at the majestic Malham Cove. I did this last Thursday after zero training and and it was a hard, but great day out.

Well, I hope you are not out on those hills in the massive thunderstorm which has just hit the area!

Tell me about it. Planned ride cut short as the thunderstorm started as I was heading towards Silsden. Ended up sheltering in a bus stop. Hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow evening
