I know that there are a handful on here;
England to give the Aussies what for this weekend?
I'm off to Wembley later to support England with all my heart, but I am still looking forward to watching Lockyer, Slater & Inglis do their stuff, which at its best is a treat, but how I would love England's young guys to cut free and take the open game to them...
Despite the bad feeling surrounding Sam Tomkins, let's hope he turns it on.
My only regret is that Rob Burrow is not available.
Gareth Ellis will be Man of the Match I reckon - how's that for sticking your neck out?

Benjy Marshall will have an exhibition session against the Welsh too I'm afraid, which isn't great for the game. Great skills though.

Come on you minorities, give us your thoughts :hello:

England might win but on the other hand Australia might win with the outside chance of a draw.

With the squad Mcnamara has picked we don't stand a chance against the aussies, wish the RFL would hire a coach that can do the job for a change.

Am I the only person who loves Rugby Union but cannot watch or see the point of Rugby League?

I played rugby union (mostly as tighthead, but anywhere in the scrum except hooker) for 20 years or so (mostly in soft Essex) but MUCH prefered watching rugby league.

The skill, ball-handling, fitness and tackling is of a far higher standard than in union, IMO. And it is a lot more entertaining, with the ball being in actual play longer than the 15-man game.

As for today's game, Australia should probably win, as they are the world's no. 1 team, and deservedly so; but a spirited, positive performance from England might just catch the Aussies on the wrong foot.

Enjoy the game, Chilternrides, and if you meet any cocky Aussies, get your revenge in first with the piss-taking. :biggrin:

Well there is two of us on here that prefer Union, i am not getting into a slanging match on the reasons why one is better then the other but League is for thugs and Union for Gentleman .

I prefer League over Union as it's much more like American Football, which in turn pees all over both Rugby codes.

Rugby League is in my blood, settled on settee for the two games, would love England to do it, but it's a huge ask. Sam is something special though, best player in either code at the moment. Let's hope he gets a chance to shine, but the England halves are a worry.

I enjoy League, Union, American Football, Aussie Rules, and probably every other sport with blokes with strangely shaped balls...
