Most of my commutes are at silly hours if the day or night due to working crappy shifts. Today however I commuted home during the evening rush hour.

Unsurprisingly many more cyclists on the road including a fair number of fellow roadies which encouraged me to up my speed. One guy riding a simonici bike had a habit of shouting a warning to any pedestrian or vehicle that even thought of encroaching on his road space. Seemed to work for him though.

I also give a loud shout when riding/commuting and so long as it's not sounding agressive people seem to take it the same way as they would for a horn or bell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's good. We're not expected and people don't hear us coming, so changing that is good.

I'll use my airzound as a warning, or whistle or just say something like "bike right".

This guy sounds like he's pretty observant.
