It's a bit more complicated than that...
If you've just looked that up, it maybe doesn't qualify as stalking but swings well into the creepy zone

(I've just looked it up. To my surprise it exists, and goes from Dublin to Birmingham in the evening.)

I live 10 mins from LBA and have regularly used Ryanair, Jet2, Vueling, Easyjet & Monarch and in decades I've only suffered one long delay. It's all a game, they are trying to get me to pay for this and that, upgrade to this and that, I just want the cheapest flights and often use 2 carriers for the 1 round trip. This year we've done Naples, Alicante, Catania & Malaga yet we can't afford a trip to London!

Just like dealing with any large corporation selling a very cheap product, if a problem arises then I am realistic, I expect it to be an insurmountable problem and not worth me bothering with, I expect to be screwed. I've done so many short trips that if things go belly up, I am still quids in, I fly out to Malaga Oct, Friday 13th (!) with Ryanair for £62 return.........not bothered about the fiver.
Pretty sure you can afford a london trip.
And if you are delayed by not a lot you will get a refund, no quibbles. 50 per cent for 30 mins, 100 per cent for 60 mins. I have travelled london to your parts for £16 and got the whole lot refunded for a delay that didn't really in the circumstances bother me much.
I understand your argument about "quids in" but I am afraid that I cannot be so philosophical calm when it is clear that a company is treating me with contempt, doesn't care, almost revels in it.

One of our old friends, with whom I'm connected on Facebook, was dumped by Ryanair a couple of weeks ago. Her flight home from Perugia was cancelled, and she got absolutely no help from them getting home. She ended up travelling via Pisa, Florence and Vienna. All lovely places, but not when you expect to be at home.

There is simply no excuse for this sort of behaviour.
Do you know what her rights would be?
Did she pursue anything with ryanair?
Seems pretty clear to me that ryanair's practice is to keep folk uninformed about their rights, tell them nothing apart from the fact that their flight is history and leave them to sculk off. It should be an offence to inform someone that their flight is cancelled without ckearly telling them what their rights are.
Sod ryanair. I would only use them if desperate.

I'm not on the list so it seems I should be getting in.

Is this going to become a textbook example of how not to handle employees?

It seems that Ryanair pilots have been leaving in large numbers due to T&Cs leading to flight cancellations.
Ryanair offer a Golden Handcuffs deal to get existing pilots to cover the shortfall, but this itself comes with numerous strings.
Pilots collectively suggest new contracts instead of one off payments.
Ryanair respond by restricting holidays.

Mr O'Leary told the AGM that Ryanair was planning to take back one week of its pilots' holidays to prevent any further cancellations. He said pilots who had a four-week block of holidays coming up in the next few months because of rota changes would be told to take three weeks instead and have the other week in January. He said the firm did not need pilots' agreement for the change.

Is Ryanair having it's Ratner moment?

I do hope so.
The pilots should stick to their guns, the airline folds and the routes and staff should be snapped-up by other players.
Hurrah!
