I had a Ryanair flight from Stansted to Girona which was rescheduled. They wouldn't put me on a flight a day later as it was too long a time between the original and the new time.
I looked around and found another Ryanair flight from Luton which was a better time than the new one.

And it was cheaper  So I booked that and cancelled the Stansted ones.

It's funny, from time to time I have to fly Ryanair and Easy-Jet, both budget airlines, but the Ryanair experience is just nasty, apart from the fact that theplanes generally get where they're going, there's not a positive to be said about them (Cheapness we take as read from a budget carrier). Easy-Jet seem to be able to make the same budget experience so much nicer and I have no qualms about taking an Easy-Jet routing.
Ryanair I positively avoid, they no longer get my Italian travel, I've switched to Al Italia for about the same price, leaving just the Bilund trip on Ryanasty to which I do not have a sensible alternative.

I will never fly with them ever again, sure they are cheap but I will pay more to avoid them. I never realised how rude people are when no seat is allocated, it's like a stampede. On my return flight from Barcelona I paid extra for the yellow ticket thingy that allows priority boarding. And they just ignored using them on the way back so just another stampede and wasted money on yellow tickets. They were also charging these retards a huge baggage allowance fee that had brought a huge suitcase of booze and fags to bring it onboard or else they just had to leave it. These idiots were kicking off in the checkout line. Why they brought the excess luggage is beyond me, I had read about all the useless baggage allowance's and rip-off fees for going over it. Never, ever again.

We use them to Limoges in France. It's like a bus or train and we've had very few problems (seats can be a bit hard and there simply isn't enough legroom IME). The standard of passenger behaviour is always good.

Can't stand Ryanair or Easy Jet - I get the choice of BMI Baby or Flybe now, for the days I need to be in Scotland, who are both about as reasonable as it gets I suppose. Used to be British Airways back in the halcyon days, cooked brekkie, comfy seats, only half a dozen folks on the plane, etc. etc. Edinburg airport was a shed with a couple of carparking spaces. I remember when all this was fields you know.

Just herded around like cattle now...sigh...

The hair that broke the camels back for me with Ryanair was getting double charged fora flight and the only way of speaking to customer service was through a premium rate phone line. That is taking the p***. I'm sure it was a quid a minute although looking at their website now it's 10p/min, I think they msut have got some stick.

Anyhow after sending them a couple of letters and gettign ignored, they got a one threating to take them to the Irish Small Claims court and they paid up. If anyone needs to - google it - there's some clear instructions on how to go about it online.

I had a work trip to China once... internal flights within China ... now THAT'S a stampede!

It's devil take the hindmost, and make sure you still have both your shoes after the brawling crowd has carried you with it up the stairs. Shocking! But it made me change my opinion of China as being meek and gentle... I came back with a wary respect for the oomph and gumption I'd witnessed.

Remember the BA 'Shuttle Service' you wrote your own ticket (Secretary had a book of 'em) and just turned-up, if the plane was full they rolled out another straight away and that cooked brekkie was fab!
Halcyon daze indeed ....

My only slight concern is that the boys are 9 and 6 and we haven't pre-booked seats. Am I being daft trusting human nature that someone will let us sit together?
[/quote]

Just coach the boys. The elder one can keep up a constant stream of inane chatter about all and sundry, with frequent questions for the person beside them, along the lines of So, do you like cheese?, and So, how do aeroplanes work? and so, how are babies made? and the youngest can learn and sing over and over a really irritating song. People will be begging you to take them back... ;)

It's Ryanair, you'll be lucky if you're all on the same plane!

I'm planning/thinking of flying with Ryanair in June. There will be two adults and a 5 month old baby.

Does anyone know if the child will be allocated a seat on its own, or share the same seat with a parent?

I'm asking you lot as it's cheaper than a premium rate international phone call!

They should give you a baby seat belt that attaches to your seat belt, and the kid sits on your lap... mind you, Ryanair might charge you for it...
