Ok, here's the deal,

Your going home. It's been a long day and you just want too hit the road.
You dive into the loo, slip on the Lycra, put the lid on, grab the bike, turn the lights on and start the Garmin!
Great your on your way home.

You cycling down a busy road, it's the height of rush hour and you realize your sitting on the old pea pod! ouch. You go as far as you can hoping you can make it but you can't! it hurts too much.

What do you do?

1) Get off, slip your hand down in full sight of all on coming traffic and make the necessary adjustments.
2) Grit your teeth and hope you don't pass out before you get home.
3) Don't be in such a hurry too get home and make the necessary adjustments before you left the loo in the first place :P

Number 3 ideally. But there have been times where the necessary adjustment has had to be made

I think of the wife's younger sister and rearrange the furniture without hands.
Even if I thought of two sisters I don't think it would be enough too lift me out of the saddle lol. But I'd give it a damn good go :P

1 or 3, no worries, no shame.

I've been having a similar issue recently riding under some pylons nearby, that seems to be inducing a current in my bike that, ahem, earths through the cutaway in my saddle.

I've even asked a physicist I know what to do about it and he just said stop cycling under them.

No adjustments get rid of that pain.

I thought someone had robbed your backpack from the thread title - however, on reading the OP it would be No. 1 for me; the passing public are all strangers to me - sometimes you just can't wait until you get home you've got to adjust. :secret:

I find that once you are in that "position", nothing can put it right. I wear a waist bag so option 1 wont work, so its option 2. Option 3 doesn't even enter the equation.
It really does spoil the ride though.
