Well my pride and joy is now about 16 months old, and looks well used! So I can't be accused of spoiling her looks!

I've bought some self adhesive reflective tape and applied it liberally to mine and my sons bikes. Just took some flash photos to check the results and I'm astonished at how effective it is.

I love reflective stuff!!!!!

And these photos are where? lol

Am thinking of doing the same to mine, like the idea of the reflective tape on the spokes...this shows up well in photos I've seen

I cant publish the photo's cos everyone will see how messy my porch is!

I've applied the tape in rings around various parts of the frame and the rack. I dud the same to my sons pushchair years ago.

Going to get more and go completely mad!

I got some spoke reflectors earlier in the year, I'd forgotten about those - I'll put them on too!

hi
Google brings up lots of tape options. Would you recommend any particular tape, Sara? I need to put some on the commuter so peeps don't see that the rear mudguard is falling apart...

I have spoke reflectors on the old MTB hack but I would have though you could get away with a fair bit of reflective coverage if carefully done in a sort of "bike decals" kind of way.

Poundshop sell reflective stickers - stickiness is pretty good too.
I got two different types from eBay, I got scotchlite 3M white tape for my bike, and some cheaper black stuff for my sons. The White tape is better, having said that the black tape isn't bad.
On reflection (boom boom) I should have got red for the back of the rack.

Haven't put the spoke reflectors on yet.

The chevron shaped one on the mudguard is actually black and practically invisible when its not reflecting.

LOL. Now might not be a good time to say I got SMIDSY'd last week! By a man driving a bin wagon! I had to hop off the road to avoid being hit by him as he passed me. I was unusually wearing my night vision jacket, which is also very reflective.
Unfortunately for him he was on his way to my work place so I caught him up. Apparently he didn't even see me. So I've had some photos taken of myself and I'll be enclosing them in my letter of complaint to his manager.
