    Very sad indeed. He was a good rider too - the Langkawi is no picnic with the extremely humid condititions...

  7. very shocking as i read the cyclingnews story about him being in hospital then clicked on 'next news' and the lead story was he was dead... seems such an innocuous way to go.

    I think sometimes when we are told operations are 'routine' this is not the case and all of them can go wrong or turn nasty. Sad to see that in this case it also had such a terrible ending!!

    another good man down. puts two stage wins and a jersey in the tdf into perspective. very sad news.
