That is terribly sad news. My condolences to his friends and family.
I had the pleasure of meeting Vernon quite recently, when I bought a
Ribble frame from him. He always seemed a throughly nice chap on-line, and having met him I can say that he was one of those people who you instantly warm to. We had a lovely chat about his trip to America, and (mostly) about his Woodrup - the bike, of course, was in the kitchen with us.. It was cold out you see. He also talked about his imminent retirement, and how it was quite possible that he might have found himself buying another Woodrup, although there was a suggestion that he might have some work to do on the domestic front first.
Vernon, you were one of life's good guys. Goodnight.
