Nobody does Great War pathos like Blackadder Goes Forth but that is pretty good.

Fill yer boots with Christmas adverts here; John Lewis, M&S, Coca Cola, Waitrose, Aldo, Debenhams, Boots and Sky Movies

Might as well get all the reviews over and done with in one fell swoop.

Most emotions catered for.

Did you see the clip of the making of the ad?

Fraid not, I feared they would be crowing about how clever they were. Should I risk it?

It's not so bad.
FWIW, I liked it for at least trying to sell/show the true meaning of Christmas rather than come to Sainsburys and buy loads of shite you don't need and gorge yourself for days on consumerism ... oh and we're cheaper than ASDA ....
There is a truth in the story.

People need to open their eyes. This is by no means disrespectful. The only reason this advert makes me want to shop at Sainsburys is because they've made a beautiful advert depicting peace and sharing, even between those who are supposed to be enemies. It's not like he gives him a bar of sainsburys basic chocolate is it? No. They don't advertise any of their products. The only way you would know that the ad was made by sainsburys is because it says sainsburys at the end. By saying they're being disrespectful by making an advert based on a time when so many people lost their lives, you're saying that every person who made a film or tv programme about a war is also being disrespectful. Think before you speak. If anything, this shows a great amount of respect that many of us have for those soldiers who stopped fighting on that day.

In other words Sainsburys wish to have their name associated with the words peace and sharing, whilst at the same time pulling out all the stops to take advantage of a religious festival to squeeze every last penny out of their customers.
Peace and sharing:rolleyes:.
