Samantha has a new boyfriend. He is a racehorse trainer. She would like to ride a racehorse. He said he was quite willing to drop his jockeys and enter her at Newmarket.
I don't if anybody on here is old enough to remember the 'Round the Horn' radio show with Kenneth Horn, Hugh Paddick and Kenneth Williams in the sixties but that was loaded with innuendo. It was outrageous for the time, especially when you consider homosexuality was illegal until 1967. Apparently the BBC bosses were such a load of old duffers that they didn't see the double entendres in the script when reading it. Very very funny. Here's a clip:
Perhaps I am in the minority. But, I find the Samantha jokes unacceptable and should have been left in the 1970's. I find it grating and old fashioned sexism.
