It's not. Just part of the fun. But they expect about 700 people dressed up in holiday cheer.

The amphetamines kick in about 400m from the finish line.

You're a tough crowd. 700+ riders and probably equal amount of others will have a great time on Saturday in downtown Milwaukee eating, drinking, dancing in the holiday spirit. It will include the fastest spandex rider and those that are too big to fit in spandex. But they will be united in the love of bicycling. It will also make the non-biking community feel good about cyclists. Plus, it will raise around $20,000 to support bicycling initiatives to make cycling safer and more fun.

Well, we've a 1-hour Christmas Lights Ride (decorate yourself or your bike if you want) starting from the South Quay in King's Lynn next Thursday at 7pm but the group's only got about 200 members total so it won't be 700 riders. ;)
