I'm thinking of getting some more records. So - any suggestions for albums?
At the risk of stating the bleedin' obvious, it depends what you like.
I have recently started noticing hair growing in my ears, so no great surprise that I have gone a bit jazz. Not entirely, but those are the records I'm tending to buy. Because that's the way my taste has led. Other tastes may differ.
I would say that if you want to explore what records have to offer, you pretty much have to buy second hand, because that's what the overwhelming majority of records are. But in my experience, if you're careful, you can get good things off
ebay for not a great deal, and tho' you do get the occasional dud, most are fine or better. Of course that is with jazz - jazz folk tend to have decent equipment and a respect for the vinyl. Other genres may vary.
I seldom pay more than about a fiver a pop for ebay records, including delivery (I enquire about combined postage ahead, and get, eg, three records from the same seller for one p&p), and hardly any are faulty. Some may have a bit of snap crackle and pop going on in the background, but most don't. And I've never come across a scratch, apart from a couple of old records where I half expected it. And even then, nothing unplayable. Nothing that skips. And I must have bought fifty records over the last 18 months.
But like I say, what really matters is what you like. Jazz may not be your thing. It isn't most people's. If it was me and I had £20 burning a hole in my pocket I might buy this

and this

and this.

But that's me.
You is you.
PS A decent record cleaner is essential if you're going to buy old records online.
These are good.
