Put up in Tesco, Cupar, last weekend.

Why cannot they wait until after Remembrance Sunday at least have some respect. What will it be next year, mid October just in case we forget that Christmas is at the end of December.

...Christmas tree! Yikes! It's only the 6th of November and someone already has a Christmas tree up.

Seen one in a house and one in a shop - being dressed.

Its stupid and rediculous as most will think !

D'you ever see neighbouring houses having a who-can-outdo-each-other-with-xmas-lights-outside-the-house competition? You know the sorts - reindeer & sleigh on the roof, inflatable snowman up there as well, garden decked out like grotto etc.

We could do a thread on this closer to the time with pix of course!

Good idea Maz! Yes there are some very over the top houses around. I wonder if anyone has ever looked at accident rates close to these houses!

the first christmas tree i saw this year was in a hairdressers in Ipswich town centre.
it went up about 3 weeks ago!
since then there have been many many shops in town with their decorations up...

I'm a big kid really. and absolutely love christmas, but this is way too early for me.
Having said that, the wife and I will be putting ours up on December 1st.. start of advent and all that.

I used to like building different 'trees' in the front garden when my son was younger. Roadmesh, plasterbeads, stained tiling battens, plywood and marble etc...bit of fun and something different but then came the advent () of B&Q and the inflatable decs, the glowing Santas and lights chasing and changing AND reliable...it all seems a bit fake as mentioned earlier.

Hmm. Well, speaking of Christmas decorations, does anyone know where you can get battery-powered fairy lights...

There must be loads of possibilities Tim. Maplins have usually got lots of solder-it yourself Christmas novelty flashing things - for fun. Maybe they do b.p. fairy lights too.
A few years ago, I bought a battery operated set from a little electricians on the corner of Praed St - I think (I'll look it up in a minute) and they were LED and I wore them under a white shirt. Pretty impressive at the rugby club discos I tell you!

BDC may be another place...or Ryness?

Oh yes indeed. Actually my neighbouring street is featured on the local news every year as being one of the most decorated in Wales.
