Yes, it was a 55cm, had it been a 57 I would have hung onto it. I also had a 59 which was a fraction too big and which has a new home here on the forum.
They are out there but you may need to look in odd places. Mine were found in France and Belgium where there is less SBDU mania but that is a bit more complicated these days

As for the UK, look out for ones that are wrongly described or "under described" but have the correct details, especially repainted bikes and for repainted
The issue will be that it is much more complicated to ship to the UK than it was before. For someone just wanting to sell a bike it is a real pain, and will put a lot of people off shipping (even those who before would have been ready to put it in a box.) If you go down that route then it may be best to offer to organise shipping yourself.
