I'm glad most of you took this in the vein it was intended.

I don't inject thank you.

I enjoy cycling, a pass some cyclists, some cyclists pass me, I enjoy cycling ...... but it does motivate me slightly when scalped.

You must bear in mind where each cyclist is on their journey when out, a Speedy Gonzalez may have only just set out, but a steady rider may have got 60+ miles under his (her) belt that day.

I dont think Ive ever overtaken anyone..well there was a kid on a BMX...and an old lady with a shopping basket on her bike
and I only just took her !

Why all the competition ?? Kids today  Chill out and relax

Yep, I don't get it either. If you pass someone or they pass you....why does it matter? Ride your own ride.

One of the last people to overtake me on the BSO stepped on the peddle as She went past. Convinced me of the benefits of well fitting lycra:smile:. Far fitter faster and stronger than me too.

did she convince you of lycra benefits by talking to you or due to what she was wearing and how she looked in it?

What makes me laugh are the ones that realise that someones behind them & catching, after a mile or so of hard effort realise you're still catching them, though at a slower pace, then stop to answer their phone.

Or get a sudden mechanical issue

I'm glad most of you took this in the vein it was intended. If I was capable of beating roadies on my MTB I would be a serious force to be reckoned with. I am not and thus I am not

I know how you feel as everybody seem to be passing me at the moment
, on my mtb. But wait till I get my racer, only half of them will pass me then ( I mean the ones not on MTBs)
I must also add that my mtb has all terrain tyres on it, not road tyres, so thats my excuse for being slower

I'm not bothered about being past by roadies TBH. I have the pleasure in knowing I can go off and explore a muddy off-road trail on the same bike I can ride on the road. If it had been a couple of yobs on BSO's that would have been a different matter
