"Out of the blue, not for you" is something to go by whether it's a text or email, cold call or doorstep salesperson. And if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

I think you need to be either naïve or greedy. I only have sympathy for one of those parties.

I had an advert for Bitcoin appear on my phone screen about 6 weeks ago, telling me that a 'simple investment of £10,000 would yield me £250,000 in a few months'. They gave it away when they used multi millionaire ex footballer, now BBC football pundit Alan Shearer as an example of someone who invested £10,000 to successfully make 250,000 in a matter of months. Mmm, why would a multi millionaire gamble with £10,000 to make £250,000 which would be a small amount to him I thought.🤔

Problem is that the scammers don't care - they persuade people to take out loans to give them money
that they know they will never be able to pay back

which is pretty close to evil

(not you - obviously - but some vulnerable people have been persuaded to do this )

I also listened to this on Radio 2 earlier and people are targeting the elderly people by the sound of it
