The basis of that call could be real though and, depending on how much credit you had, it can be a lot of money. But you can claim the refunds yourself and save paying fees to middlemen.

Interesting.

But not relevant to me - I've never had a late payment or charge for going over my limit.

This is a step-by-step guide, including template letters, to force your current or old credit card provider(s) to repay the last six years of late payment fees or charges for going beyond your limit. Often you can get £100s or even £1,000s back.

Are you sure that's not actually a Welsh accent?
Pretty certain. My daughter and her welsh boyfriend stayed for a few days this week. He sounded strikingly dissimilar to the 3 Indians who rang me yesterday... Although with all the background noise?

I love these...

1. Can I speak to your supervisor please. You have breached article 17 of the Telecommunications Act of 2009 by contacting me so I need to know which database you are using and where you got my data from
2. My name is Captain James Blenkinsop - Smythe of the MOD, how did you get hold of this restricted number. I need to speak to your supervisor immediately as yor Company is is in breach of the Official Secrets act and we need to investigate
3. Sorry - I am the cleaner, they are out at the moment joy riding - Can I take a message
4. I am sorry his wife is out at the moment, and he is in the bedroom with the goat - can I take a message

All of which result in them hanging up

We seem to have got rid of the lifestyle choices calls. .Told them we are on preference caller list..They stopped after repeating this..
But I get lots via Web sites and companies who may have my details listed.
I've even had my own number call me..As they can change the I'd no apparently. .

I like telling them they've definitely got the right person. They get all excited. Tell them I'm on holiday for 3 years and to call back. It really throws them.

I just say hang on a minute, stick the phone next to a speaker and play 'God Save The Queen', Sex Pistols version, that is. They're always gone when I switch off the hold music.

I like to engage them in conversation, pretending to be genuinely interested, but continually asking them to repeat or spell things. I managed almost half an hour once. The way I see it, all the time they're talking to me they're not managing to scam someone else.

This is also my preferred method, I also like the calls from my bank/CC company (maybe) where they want me to confirm my security details to prove I am who they believe I am, I refuse to answer any questions & ask them questions to prove they are who they say they are, to which they always say they can't tell me that until I have answered theirs, to which I say I can't until they have answered mine, you can see where this is going, best I have managed is 15 minutes with a possible Halifax employee.

Sorry just to add for this particular number above it belongs to the Communication Provider Nexbridge Communications Ltd, http://nexbridge.co.uk/nuisance-calls/ I deal with this company & know they take the reports seriously & IF they can do anything they will stop the calls, but just because the scammers are using this number doesn't mean it will originate via Nexbridge.

Please keep it up.

I have been advising those fools to do mutual authentication for twenty years. Eventually they will.

I just had 'Stephen' on the phone from Microsoft, apparently my laptop is teeming with viruses and shite. I told him I hadn't got a computer and the cheeky git said "well I don't know why I'm talking to you then you f*cking b*stard". I managed to get in a "twat" before the phone went down but really I ask you...
