I'm using Presta 26 x 1.1 - 1.3 tubes in Conti UltraGatorskin 28-559 tyres.
The rims have Schrader drillings.
There is enough thickness of rubber at the valve root to sit in the drilling snuggly without due strain.
The knurled lockring has a 'plain diameter' about 1mm long. This is the diameter of a Schrader drilling. It is the 'centralising' device to hold the Presta valve stem central and secure in the larger drilling.
No need for ferules or sleeves.
PS. Check the knurled lockring before you buy. Don't want to get home and find out the lockring doesn't have a 'plain diameter' for seating in a Schrader drilling...
PPS. Once you've got the correct lockrings, KEEP THEM.. Don't throw them away with desceased inner tubes.
