On a whim I bought a pack of 6 scotch pancakes. I have fallen in love with them.
Toasted with.......
Banana and honey
Honey and ice cream.
Next** I will try banana, honey and ice cream.
**today I bought American ones from Aldi. I'm salivating ^_^

Simple to make, too!
  • 225g self-raising flour
  • 25g caster sugar
  • 40g butter, melted
  • 1 medium egg
  • 250ml milk

On leaving school (1976) my first job was in a Little Chef and American pancakes were a favourite there, either with maple syrup or ice cream and chocolate or raspberry sauce.
I love English pancakes, I loved American ones too.

I find bought ones not a patch on the simple pancake recipe of egg, flour and milk in equal quantity. You can stick Scotch or American.

Pancakes are a breakfast staple for the girls, what could be easier.? Milk, flour and egg...easy to.prep, gotta be better than cereals.
Never bought ready made mix, seems a bit pointless to.me, its so easy as it is.

So quick to make, whether american style, drop scones or continental crepes.

Can always make them in advance and then warm them up in the toaster. And will be way better than anything bought. Made some lovely banana pancakes the other night.

BBC Good food recipes for banana pancakes and fluffy american are my go-to. For crepes, I use an old french recipe.
