Sounds quite cheap although it's a 13 year old bike. Ask for evidence of ownership, ask lots of questions about the bike, ask for the frame number to check on bikeregister
Someone was asking about something similar here 10 years ago
Has it been well used or not had a lot of use? Sometimes old bikes can be a money pit but if it's been looked after and well maintained could be a good buy. Check the spokes and rims for being true. Wiggle the cranks to check for play, likewise the headset. Are the chainrings hooked? Do the gears change cleanly? Does sound cheap. If you are unsure take someone who knows along. Negotiate hard if you any of the above probs.
