Scott solace eride vs older orbea gain

I am currently demoing a Scott Solace eride 20 with the crank based rota, fat 50mm tyres and some lovely sram etap shifters. However, whilst I am a big believer in n+1, I can’t see a huge difference between it and my 2019 Orbea Gain. My gain has some mods with 650b’s running 47mm tyres and the climbs seem pretty comparable between the X35 and the TQ motor.

This is basically a commuting bike along road and trail.

Any thoughts?

So, demo handed back and I’ve been back on my Orbea. I’m not sure my initial thoughts were 100% accurate…..

The X35 is noisier and is much less subtle in the power delivered. The gain is also not quite such a comfortable ride in terms of being slightly more aggressive set up.

I guess I better get saving….
