Scotty Moore joins the great gig in the sky

Who was Scotty Moore I hear some of you ask.
Well, he was a true innovator of the guitar and Elvis's guitarist.

It was Scotty Moore who my dad said was one of the greatest. He used to say that between Moore and Chuck Berry, they were the true inventors of Rock n Roll.

And probably one of his most famous solos.

Great shame, one of the true originals, great guitarist and a great bloke too, there aren't many days when I don't blast at least one tune with Scotty Moore playing guitar on it.

All gone now.

I've stood on the spot Scotty Moore stood on at Sun Studio's when that was recorded - I could feel the force.

I "discovered" Scotty when a friend who was an Elvis fan (I don't like Elvis) played a couple of tracks of the "All the King's Men" album

Elvis recorded some great stuff right through until failing health took a hold, there was some Hollywood dross and 70s clunkers but gems throughout too, Scotty was there until the late 60s.
