I hope you have some good first aiders to hand and an ambulance on standby! My prediction is collar bones and wrists......

EDIT: Will they be wearing helmets?

I stopped at doing all cycle activities with the scouts because of their insistence on helmets

It was a shame

2/3 of the fundraising came from the sponsored bike rides

1 mile cycle track for the Beavers through to 10 miler for the Venture Scouts and parents

However we then had to exclude half the participants, so it was now inappropriate for an inclusive organisation

Never having tried it, but just make some simple rules, enforce them by kicking those off the court who aren't obeying them, and come back to tell us what carnage ensued:biggrin:

Just a couple ideas. Keep the numbers down in the games. Maybe even down to one per side when their number is called out. Also use a football/beachball to keep the leaning over and ball speeds low

I seem to remember plenty of minor and some slightly more major injuries at cubs/scouts/ventures. As a Venture Scout back in the day, I remember running one of the activities at the county jamboree (in Somerset!) where we got the award for most injuries.... Set up a bit of an assault course and someone managed to get a nose bleed dropping off monkey bars made from a ladder and someone broke an arm on the water slide at the end, among other things....
I don't think we knew what risk assessments were in the late 90s....

People riding round in an enclosed space holding clubs. All the rules in the world can't make that safe.
Well people do play cycle polo so there has to be a way to reduce the risks, it's never going to be "safe", but kids need to take some risks. I used to see a kid on Whiteladies Road cycling to cycle polo.

I must admit I would want to be in control of the mallets.
3 a side, in zones on a netball court. Instant 3 minute time out for mallets judged to be swung wildly. No 'chasing ball' start, but a coin toss to decide who kicks off. Dodgeball as the ball, like a smaller softer volleyball, a hockey ball for if they get the hang of it!

Pah, what could possibly go wrong eh
You are one brave leader! Sounds like you will need a new accident report pad .
