I learned late yesterday that the guy who now has my Trek 800 had the seatpost and saddle nicked whilst working the other day. Barstewards.
Have had a root around and found what I think is the correct size seatpost, and a spare saddle. Hope they didn't nick the QR too, don't have any of those.

They will nick anything that's not locked down. It p's me off to think that we work to get nice things just for holes like these to take them if they feel like it and not get punished if they ever get caught :cursing:

Or use the QR release yourself and take the post & saddle away with you?

(Which might also make the rest of the bike a bit less worth stealing?)
If you do that the scrotes use the excuse that the bike is abandoned "coz bits is missing". I caught a guy stripping one of my street bikes when I returned from a weekend away and he could not accept that he was in the wrong. Gas the feckers!!!!!!

i realize that gassing people might be seen as a little extreme. Sometimes I drink too much and... erm...I have somewhat hateful thoughts about shitty people.
Over the last 28 years living here I have had something like 14 bikes and thousands of dollars worth of parts stolen, I live in a neighbourhood infested with crackheads, junkies and loser parasites of all descriptions, so sometimes my warm fuzzy side gets a little overwhelmed. I actually enjoy some of the local "characters" but they can be tiring!!!!!! You know, urinating, defecating, vomoting, stealing, begging, threatening the missis with rape and violence, it can test even the saintliest amongst us!
