Just heard of a local cyclist who lay at the roadside seriously injured overnight until seen by people going to work in daylight next morning.

I also know the area - used to work out that way - it's not quiet for traffic.

Some scum out there 'generally'. To get out, then drive off, beggars belief.

This sort of person would have left any accident scene, just for balance folks.

About 80% of the underclass I meet whilst at work. Unfortunately I don't find this story shocking, just sickening. I've been to an RTC once where someone was hit on a busy dual carriageway, and the driver that hit him didn't stop. The next three cars that came along in a row and drove over him all DID stop, but by then it was too late, and you have three other people thinking it was their fault.

Hopefully the police can use the CCTV to connect the dots and identify the reg plate and work out where the scum was going.

Personally, I think people like that should be named and shamed with a mugshot and a description of their crime in the local paper following conviction of an offence like that.

They probably will be, depending on the local paper and what they feel the interest in the story is. They'll certainly be named, as local papers have a courts section after conviction.

I'm hoping they catch this bastard sharpish, its horrible to think this can happen in my home town, but to stop and get out to look at the person then get back in your car and bugger off? i'm utterly speechless.
