God bless 'em. Finished 6th in what is now called 'League 1' and surpassed three of the most reviled teams in the country to gain promotion.

It's been delightful. Seeing MK Dons go out at the semi-final stage was delicious. Seeing Leeds go out was even more delicious. And, although the chairman of Millwall has laboured long and hard to improve the club, there's not a Championship side that won't thank Scunthorpe for sparing them the trip to the New Den where the supporters give the lie to the propostion that we were better off in the glory days of the 1970s when football was real and spectators stood.

Another year on the third tier for Leeds United. Oh, the pain of it all!

Met the father of one of the players on the way to the ground when they were playing Chelsea, nice guy, and decent player his son was as well.

Mind you as I just posted elsewhere - spare a thought for us Norwich supporters

We'll have to play Leeds / Millwall / Milton Keynes next year

(is there a shudder smiley?)

Scunthorpe.......where the heck is that?

When you find out, post the directions on a Newcastle fans forum as well

Well done to the Iron, great performance with limited resources. Hope Nigel Adkins can keep them up next season.

My sympathies. Twats tried destroying our stadium during a cup game. Some very ugly scenes.

Hi Piemaster - presumably you're a Hull fan

Congratulations on staying up

I lived there for 4 years in the 1990s before the KC stadium was built and I never thought I'd see them in the Prem

In those days it was very much rugby - in fact I went to see Hull FC (which for a confused southerner like me turned out to be a rugby team)

Cheers! The stadium move has brought about the most successful period in the clubs history. 19,000 season tickets sold before yesterday.
I like walking about and seeing kids in City shirts, not usual man U / liverpool / etc.

The other rugby team is doing pretty well at the moment too.

Hull KR fans used to make me nervous

I remember playing 6-a-side footie, and our usual pitch was occupied

We found one in the depths of East Hull, and booked it. As soon as we had started, a bunch of very hard looking Hull KR-kitted rugby players just walked on, kicked our ball out of the park onto a nearby railway and said "we're using this pitch now"

We slunk off back to west Hull in a scardey-cat type of way. (There were 26 of them and 12 of us to be fair to us!)

Stayed a Hull FC rugby and footie fan though and loved the city (except east Hull and Bransholme)
