Hi all
took some photos yesterday (during a fab 94-mile ride

) and tried to copy them to a website when I got home...
kept getting error messages, as in PC couldn't find card, and neither could the phone any more (though it was obviously fine when I took the pics, which save to the SD card).

It isn't the phone, as another SD card I have works fine in it.

Tried it in a card reader, which recognises other SD cards, but nothing doing.

Now, it isn't the end of the world... most of the stuff is backed up in various places except for maybe 100 songs or so and a few photos, but nothing that important...

So, any ideas as to how to get into a card that won't be recognised by phone/card reader?

Thanks as always.

What size is it? Is there the SD/SDHC issue with the micro cards as well?

Hi Norm, it's an 8 gig sdhc, which has worked with no probs for nearly 18 months... I took a pic, went to look at it in the phone's 'gallery', but aborted that before the pic opened. Thought no more of it till I got home, and found card corrupted. Tried another sdhc card in the phone, and that works fine, so the phone's allright...

Hmmm... the card could be toasted or maybe just the file table got corrupted when you aborted the gallery viewing.

There's a lot of free file recovery programs which might work at recovering files, even without the PC recognising the card as a drive.

Sounds like the card is toast I'm afraid  Had the same happen to me with a 16 gig MicroSD card - had to send it back to Sandisk for a replacement. Usually SD cards just go catastrophically rather than bits starting to fail like a hard drive, which is why I think flash drives still have a long way to go before they replace hard drives!

Update... new sdhc card (also 8 gig) works for a few hours, then not recognised... a 2 gig sd card works fine... getting new phone in 3 weeks anyway, so will live with it till then.... thanks for your advice folks.

What issue is that Norm? I'm getting a weird problem with my cameras SDHC memory card, can read via usb direct to the camera, but if I take the card out and put it into any reader I cant see it.
