You should have 12 months guarantee, especially on a San Disk - do you know where you bought it ?
Can you format it on the PC then try it in the camera ?

Sounds odd. I've had one SD card fail for an unknown reason.

I had a similar failure once, but after cleaning the card's contacts, it was fine again.

Not the SD formatter I use - but a formatter specific to SD cards has brought several back to life.
