pineapples. taste the same as you vom them out as they do on the way in.

don't bother to fight the urge. just let go.

horizon watching is good. works for me. as does polishing brass ( keeps mind off things)

Crossing to Lundy was a tad lumpy at end of May. not many escaped without puking.

When the new Shetland ferries were introduced some years ago the furniture was not bolted down! After the first rough passage this was swiftly rectified. Most interesting crossing I had was on LOTI from Barra to Oban. I was the only person looking for lunch and they had difficulty holding a plate down to serve it. Before you ask LOTI is MV Lord of the Isles.

 indeed, thats around 55mph, just around gale force 9 going into storm force 10.

It's when you hear the shipping forcast say you have violent storm force 10/11 that it gets really fun...(hairy)....
Don't know what is was in NZ on the ferry (but must've been fairly impressive). We've run before a couple of force 7/8 gales and then got the hell out the way.

That's when the ferry went dry on on the crossing, with the Duty Free and the bars being shut. We were told it was going to get slightly windy, over the PA system.
