On a calm millpond kind of day boats are the best way to travel.I still prefer ferries... there's something fun about them.

Had it many a time, when the wind gets up to a constant 50knt the port closes
None of the passengers either.Surprised so little furniture was bolted down![]()
Bolting the passengers down would be a little OTT. I guess they could run safety lines around the place and let people clip on!None of the passengers either.
That way everyone after the first slider would have a soft landing on the others. Good idea.Bolting the passengers down would be a little OTT. I guess they could run safety lines around the place and let people clip on!

Don't know what is was in NZ on the ferry (but must've been fairly impressive). We've run before a couple of force 7/8 gales and then got the hell out the way.indeed, thats around 55mph, just around gale force 9 going into storm force 10.
It's when you hear the shipping forcast say you have violent storm force 10/11 that it gets really fun...(hairy)....
Doesn't stop sea sickness, just makes it taste better.Strawberries... honest. Apparently one of the chemicals in them is excellent against sea sickness.

That's when the ferry went dry on on the crossing, with the Duty Free and the bars being shut. We were told it was going to get slightly windy, over the PA system.Don't know what is was in NZ on the ferry (but must've been fairly impressive).
