I must have some sort of malware on my laptop. When I go to use Google, I get redirected to another site. Anyone know how to get rid of it?

does it send you to a virus checking site? run all the virus and malware from an extrnal source in safe mode iirc including 'hijackthis' and keep away from the pron

Get superantispyware and run it to clear it.
Had something similar a month or two back, and this cleared it. The malware had stopped spy bot from running and updating also, but superantispyware did the trick for me.

I had exactly the same some months ago. Spyware, malware virus scan didnt solve it. If you search back in these pages you'll find there's a fix. Its extra information thats got into a file you just need to delete some lines in that file...just can't remember how i got there. Not much help, but the answers back there somewhere.

You're thinking of the Hosts file. Some malware may also change the dns setting on the ethernet adapter from automatic to a rogue server.
