After a bit of pushing AI suggested my name was wrongly spelt and confused me with a comedy actor, and an AUSTRALIAN MP with a past.

Further pushing with an additional fact I knew about me, it found my record in Companies House.
A better search term might be needed to discover all the other stuff I've done in the last 70 odd years.

I used ChatGPT.

My name yielded nothing for me. There no public figures with my name either. I tried adding a place of work, and a general location and still nothing.

I can try Co-Pilot at work next week as I have a work account, that might give better results than a free AI.

What is this Copilot you speak of?

That's Microsoft's tool. I've started using it a little for work. It's like most computers though as it'll very quickly do what you tell it to do, but have to tell it exactly what you want otherwise you won't get what you want.

Well, obiously you need to have something identifying out there in the 'public domain'.
'None payment of TV license' often qualifies though that might be near 100% nondescript.

Very flattering but only the last one of those is true. I haven't clue about the first two.

I know about two people with my name in Cardiff.
One, the same age as me, died a few years ago and a lot of my friends read the obituary and thought it was me. My wife had one very confused person phoning her up to offer his condolences.
With the other the police called at my house once to ask if I owned a shotgun as someone with my name had been reported as firing one off in the street. Not me Guv.

Yep, that word prominent is prominent and almost flattering.
I guess AI is about precision, at least when it works.
