seat post & stem question

I could do with a bit more adjustment in my reach. Having just swopped to a Brooks saddle it's slightly further back than the old saddle and I have no forward movement left. Now it might be in the right place but as I can't move it forward to try I don't know.

So question in two parts really:

1) For adjusting reach is it better to adjust the stem or the seat?
2) Anyone recommend a good road seat post (Dawes Audax) with very fine up/down adjustment and a bit of a forward throw for the seat rails.

Pedal to saddle dimension is established by your inside leg.
Saddle fore/aft is determined by; femur length and seat tube angle.

Reach, as a combination of top tube and stem, can only be adjusted by changing or the stem.

Yeah. Put the saddle where you want it (relative to the pedals) first and then place the bars.
