Hi all,

I am hoping to move to Chiswick and trying to work out the commute. I will be buying an expensive road bike for the commute (and for other long distance rides), one that i won't want to leave chained up in a public place. I work by Chancery lane tube and so my question is:

- does anyone know of any secure parking locations similar to the London Bridge "on yer bike" facility but closer to Chancery Lane?
- if not, does anyone know of any plans for any to be opened?

Cheers

TFL only lists that one, and one at Finsbury Park http://www.tfl.gov.uk/roadusers/cycling/11947.aspx

btw, I cycle through Chiswick and past Chancery Lane on one of my routes. It's not a bad commute

It's a bit more complicated than that...
For a short commute (7 miles) why bother with an expensive road bike? If it were me I'd use a Brompton; others may prefer a cheap single-speed hack.

There are some manned, council-run car parks in the City that are fairly secure but probably not quite as good as on yer bike. Free for cycles, but not sure whether they are near enough to you. Cycle and run commute??

Being a bit paranoid about theft myslef, I have used a combination of:
manned car park
two decent d-lock
oldish 200 quid bike

That said there are some better bikes I see parked up; not flash but decent bikes that are probably worth 500 quid. I might start using my 500 quid bike in the spring when I have insurance.

Does your work place have any secure bike parking?
