Yep that tallies. Cars slow and bother me very little. But it’s a constant avoiding crappy cyclists who are more likely to do minor prang rather than serious injury. But it’s endemic.

I understand that. I have mixed feelings about e-scooter riders, e-motorbikes and people racing on their pedal bikes; one part of me deplores their lack of consideration, but the other part recognizes that they are part of tipping the balance away from the motor vehicle to two wheeled transport.

Tl:dr All two wheeled road users help raise awareness of us.

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
It got quite a bit better over around a decade. But since covid the rapid expansion of food delivery ebikes has dragged it back down. The sad part are the new cyclists who follow the lead of the delivery bikes and so the standard has noticeable dropped. Definitely far more near misses with other bikes than motor veh. these days.
On my occasional jaunts through the centre I notice and tut at the general two-wheeled behaviour as I sedately trundle through. But I can't be too judgemental because what I'm seeing, recklessly whizzing across junctions, is my former self.

Being the proud owner of an over 60s oyster card that gets me around for free (after 9am) I don't do this much.

No problems at all. I just tucked it the corner of the meeting room. I would have been ok with secure bike parking, but whether security were going to be arsey about letting me in with my bike it had been a slight worry so I took a folding lock just in case, and I knew from streetview there were bike stands directly opposite.

Just remembered. The only person who made a thing about my bike was the maître d' at the restaurant we went to afterwards. He put it in the cloakroom (well, cloak closet) and moaned a bit that it was quite big for a folding bike. The ID9 isn't really but he must be used to Bromptons. It fit fine anyway so I don't know what the issue was.

It fit ok on the train too, but was marginal. I put it on the floor level of the luggage rack and had to arrange it at an angle so the seat tube didn't stick out. I managed it though and nobody made a comment. Worst bit was getting it stowed when folks were trying to get on. I stepped back to let them on first before finishing the faffing about. More practice would make the whole process easier though.
