Hi, my name is Andy and I'm 22 years old. I graduated from the University of Sheffield last June and I've been living and volunteering in western Romania for the past 8 months, working in impoverished Roma communities. In the time I've been here I have worked a lot on the greenhouse project we run, constructing small wooden greenhouses and also fabricating and welding hoops out of iron pipes for the 30x6m poly tunnels we put into the community. Alongside this I have also been involved in walking children from community to school in the mornings, as well as being tasked with organising the food shop and kitchen staff for a 90 strong volunteer team that came out for a week. I also used to ride a bicycle.
I've been having an amazing time and I think there is some really good work being done here, and by great people, so I am hoping to commit to being here for another year come this September. I have been largely self funded thus far, but my finances are looking increasingly sketchy as far as living here for another year goes. I've recently moved into a house which has no running water with extremely low rent which has eased things slightly, but I will still need to head back to England to work over the summer. Which is why I'm writing this to see if it jumps out at anyone looking to employ someone short term over the summer who is hardworking and quick to learn.
